How Pets Can Help Relieve Stress And Loneliness In Our Lives
Dogs and cats are amazing companions that support human well being
My puppy Gromit below loves to play ball.
Pets can provide wonderful support for our well-being. they do not demand much besides food, shelter, and our love yet they give so much back. While there is a lot of scientific evidence out there about the support pets can provide for us humans it is not the purpose of this article to review this evidence.
I would like to share the personal experiences I have had and what I have seen with people who have pets. While caring for a pet sometimes can be difficult it also brings a purpose in someone’s life.
A dog or a cat can be very loving and kind to their human creating a very strong bond and support between them. I have had many dogs and cats and enjoyed their company very much. It is lovely to come home to a pet that greets me and shows love, caring, and excitement toward being home and being around. As humans, we all want to feel love and care in our lives.
Caring for an animal gives a purpose of getting up in the morning, feeding them, going on walks, playing fetch, or just sitting quietly in contemplation with a pet curled up in our lap or next to us.
I had many wonderful adventures, mishaps, and laughs together with joyful moments with my lovely dogs and cats.
In our lives, we can go through many changes, friendships, relationships, losses, and grief. No matter what happens in my day when I am home with my puppies, yes still call them puppies no matter how old they are, there is a sense of ease and support I get from them. there is a simplicity in the relationship where all they want is love and attention nothing else. This is much simpler than many human relationships and friendships.
Even with mishaps sometimes one just have to laugh. Since the animal does not have a sense of value or money it can be difficult to me mad at them if they destroy something.
Cats can have a very loving relationship with their people and they just seem to show up when we need them. Purring and playful sitting on our lap, sleeping next to us or playing with our toes under the blanket.
I would love to hear personal experiences with pets and how they help in our everyday lives.
I hope you have enjoyed this story and the images,

Gabriella,
I must agree with your feelings about having pets. What's fascinating is that breed, pre-adoption experiences, sex, and size play a big part in how we treat them. We only have one dog now since our Katana, an almost 16-year-old spunky ten, died early in the morning while lying next to me on my pillow lb. Months before her kidneys were failing, she still be animated and active for a few minutes, then go to a space of her own. Farfel, the younger yet bigger pup, had barked and tried to nip strangers and even neighbors. He was generally active. From the day Katana struggled to climb the rainbow bridge, Farfel became quiet and sat near us, but no closer. He used to bark when someone passed our door, but now he sits. He no longer jumps out of bed but has to be coaxed. We love him, but it's obvious he still misses his cousin. Yes, I am weeping, but it's ok- I have many flashbacks of my two pets snuggling and playing together.
I do miss having a pet. Great article.
