I must agree with your feelings about having pets. What's fascinating is that breed, pre-adoption experiences, sex, and size play a big part in how we treat them. We only have one dog now since our Katana, an almost 16-year-old spunky ten, died early in the morning while lying next to me on my pillow lb. Months before her kidneys were failing, she still be animated and active for a few minutes, then go to a space of her own. Farfel, the younger yet bigger pup, had barked and tried to nip strangers and even neighbors. He was generally active. From the day Katana struggled to climb the rainbow bridge, Farfel became quiet and sat near us, but no closer. He used to bark when someone passed our door, but now he sits. He no longer jumps out of bed but has to be coaxed. We love him, but it's obvious he still misses his cousin. Yes, I am weeping, but it's ok- I have many flashbacks of my two pets snuggling and playing together.
Gabriella - Thank you for sharing this inspiring post on how pets improve the quality of life our lives and gives back to us in regard to our well-being. I became a first time pet owner when I began to feed an emaciated feral cat I've named TomTom.
He had ticks, fleas, eye problems and looked to be on death's doorstep. You read about all the benefits having a pet but until you take on the responsibility- including loving an animal unconditionally- you don't quite understand what other people are talking about. Needless to say I'm a happy pet owner and my TomTom is the spitting image of health (at least in my eyes!)
..well pets are great. I grew up with St. Bernards, but now with limited space, it seems a crime to house a pet. Nice article and I'm glad you tackled the issue.
Animals are amazing and bring so much joy into our lives. I miss so many of my lovely animals that had passed on. Thank you for sharing about your beloved Ruby.

Thank you so much Bonnie for sharing about your beloved dogs. Yes I am sure the younger one misses their friend just like we would do.
I do miss having a pet. Great article.

It is so wonderful to adopt a pet in need. Thank you for sharing about TomTom. I enjoy our lovely dogs and cats.
@Dr. Gabriella Kőrösi It has changed my life in so many profound ways :) I don’t have children so I had to grow up via Tomtom :)

Yes big dogs and small spaces do not mix well for sure. Thank you for sharing and for your kind feedback.
